Gin cocktail recipes
Gin is the least forgiving base spirit in a home bar. It is aromatic enough that a 5 ml error reads immediately — a Dry Martini poured heavy on vermouth is a different drink, not a slightly different one — and most gin classics are built on ratios rather than on a dominant flavour to hide behind.
That is why gin drinks are the best argument for weighing. Gin sits at about 0.94 g/ml, so 30 ml weighs 28.2 g; sweet vermouth is 1.05 g/ml and the same 30 ml weighs 31.5 g. Those two errors run in opposite directions, and a jigger cannot tell you about either. Every recipe below gives you both numbers.
