PourPilot for Android
Free · No account needed · Works offline
The PourPilot app turns your phone into a precision bartending station: it connects to your PourPilot coaster over Bluetooth, weighs every ingredient as you pour, and guides you to the exact amount. Recipes, pouring and your bar all work with zero connectivity.
Google Play listing is in review — this direct download is the same signed app, so you'll upgrade seamlessly once Play goes live. On an iPhone? Get it on the App Store.
Installing it
- Tap the download button above on your Android phone. Your browser may warn that this file type can harm your device — that's the standard notice for any app installed outside the Play Store. Choose Download anyway.
- Open the downloaded file — tap it in your notification shade,
or find
pourpilot.apkin Files → Downloads. - Allow the install. Android asks for permission to install apps from this source the first time. Tap Settings, switch on Allow from this source, then go back and tap Install.
- Open PourPilot and allow the Bluetooth permission when asked — it's what lets the app find your coaster. You can turn the permission off again in Android's app settings at any time.
What you need
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Android version | 7.0 (Nougat) or newer |
| Bluetooth | Bluetooth Low Energy, on any modern phone |
| Internet | Only for the download — the app itself runs fully offline |
| Account | Optional. It only syncs your "My Bar" list across devices |
| A coaster | Needed to pour. Don't have one yet? Get a PourPilot |
Is it safe to install?
Yes. The file is served from pourpilot.co.za over HTTPS and is signed with the
same release key we use for the Google Play build, so Android will accept the Play
update on top of it later without a reinstall. The app contains no analytics SDKs,
no advertising SDKs and no third-party trackers, and its Bluetooth permission is
declared neverForLocation — it cannot access or derive your location.
See the app privacy policy for the full picture.
Trouble installing?
- "App not installed" — usually an older PourPilot build signed with a different key. Uninstall the existing app and install again.
- The install option is greyed out — some phones hide it behind Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps, then pick your browser and allow it.
- The app can't find the coaster — check the coaster is powered over USB-C, that Bluetooth is on, and that you allowed the Nearby devices permission.
